Meet Your Sherpa : Shraey
Meet Shraey
Shraey is native-born to Nepal. In his small village, he was a carpenter for 32 years until he decided he needed to do something more rewarding. Before we even told him who we were, we asked him “What would you love to do?” He replied, “I love Winnie the Pooh”. This was a match for us. We explained the job offer, after which he did not reply, he just started packing a bag. Shraey loves popcorn. “It is like being at movie cinema when you eat.” When you meet Shraey, don’t be surprised if you see a Winnie the Pooh pin, or even see him wearing Pooh socks. “First time I see Animal Kingdom Everest, I get homesick. I cry. But then family I help says ‘Now you can see home whenever you want, and help others’. This make me happy again.” Shraey doesn’t eat meat, he is a vegetarian. “If you eat the animal, you cannot look a the animal anymore. it is gone.”

I have a bad back. It’s not so bad that I need to use a wheelchair, but adding extra weight to it just makes it worse. I hired a Mouse Sherpa to help carry all the things my girls needed. I am recently divorced so a trip to Disney with three girls ages 5,7, and 9 was going to be tough. Mouse sherpas sent over Shraey. I told him about my back problem and he said “No. No. No. I am your back”, with that he took my backpack and put it on. He grabbed my girls packs and using what I think were mountain climbing hooks, he hooked them all together. He looked at my littlest and said “Here we gooooooo!” like Peter Pan. We were off. The two days with him were a total relief. Even though my youngest wanted a stroller at Epcot, Shraey just carried most of the bags. When we got to Norway he started singing “Let it go.” (This is my 7 year old favorite movie)
I will admit. The thought of taking my girls on a Disney vacation scared me because I wasn’t sure I could do it. Mouse Sherpa helped me make their dream come true. Thank you SO much.
I hired Shraey to lend me a hand during our day at Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom and he was a dream! He was able to hold a table down while we waiting to order at Woody’s Lunchbox and Satu’li Canteen, hold a spot in line for both Flight of Passage and Slinky Dog Dash while I took my children Billie Jean and Layla to the bathroom, and even managed to hold all 20 of our bags of merchandise from that day in the park like nothing. In fact, my whole family loved him so much, we invited him to hang out with us during our pool day at the Caribbean Beach Club and bought him a stuffed Winnie the Pooh as a huge thanks for his service. I can’t recommend him enough!
Warning. If you take him on Winnie the Pooh, your heart will melt. When we got to the ride, his eyes lit up. My husband and I exchanged a glance, and then my husband gave Shraey his magic band so he could ride. It was SO adorable. He was like a little kid. Even my own kids were giggling with him. Shraey was just amazing with my kids. “I will carry you too.” he would say. My daughter whispered to me in private, “If he doesn’t have a room he can sleep in my bed and I can sleep with you mommy” How does a person win over the hearts of an entire family so quickly. My daughter cried at the end of the trip, and this time it was for Shraey, not just because she was leaving. This was SO worth the money. We love you Shraey – The Perez Family
This guy is ant man, and that’s what I kept calling him. He can carry like three times his own weight. Wild! He was awesome with my kids too. “I’ll carry you too.” he would say to them. So worth the money!
